DESIGN CONSULTATION

A design consultation is a fun 2-hour, in-person brainstorming session.

This is a good option for clients who feel equipped to navigate the design process mostly on their own, but need either (1) a little help getting started with a bigger project, or (2) some expert advice on a list of small interior design dilemmas.

Scenario #1: Getting started

Have an empty room to tackle, or a furnished room that needs an overhaul? Here’s how these consultations work:

  1. We talk through your style preferences and functional needs.

  2. I’ll help you think through potential furniture layout options (or cabinetry/fixture layouts in a kitchens/bathrooms).

  3. We’ll do some online shopping together, identifying options for the most important pieces. For example, in a living room we might focus on the sofa, area rug, coffee table, and armchair. As we’re searching, I’ll assemble rough mood boards.

  4. After the session, I’ll send you a follow-up packet that includes my notes and mood boards, along with links to the items we found during our session.

  5. You’ll take it from there. You’ll make final design decisions, place orders, and bring the plan to life!

Consultation fee: $500

Scenario #2: Design dilemmas

Do you have a headache-inducing list of little design dilemmas throughout your house? Maybe you can’t decide what color to paint your bedroom, you hate your dining room light fixture, you need a new living room rug to go with the sofa you just bought, and on and on. A 2-hour design consultation might be just what you need! Here’s how I approach these consultations:

  1. You’ll walk me through your house and share all of the design dilemmas on your list.

  2. I’ll give you my advice on as many as we can cover in 2 hours.

  3. If any of your dilemmas involve finding new furnishings, we’ll also do some online shopping together.

  4. After the session, I’ll send you a follow-up packet that will include my notes from our session, visual inspiration, and links to any items we sourced online during the consultation.

  5. You’ll take it from there! You’ll make the final design decisions, place orders for new pieces, and implement all the solutions to your dilemmas.
