Scenario #1: Getting started on a bigger project

Maybe you have an empty room to tackle, or a fully furnished room that you want to totally overhaul. Either way, here’s how these consultations work:

  1. We talk through your style preferences and functional needs.

  2. I’ll get out my measuring tape and help you think through some furniture layout options (or cabinetry/fixture layouts in a kitchens/bathrooms).

  3. We’ll do some online shopping together, identifying options for new key pieces (e.g., a sofa, area rug, coffee table, and armchair pair for a living room). As we’re searching, I’ll copy and paste screenshots of the pieces we find into rough mood boards.

  4. After the session, I’ll send you a follow-up document that includes my notes and mood boards from our session, along with links to the items in the mood boards.

  5. You take it from there. You’ll be the one to make final design decisions, place orders, and bring the plan to life!

DESIGN CONSULTATION

A design consultation is a 2-hour, in-person session full of design fun! This is a good option for clients who feel equipped to navigate the design process mostly on their own, but either (1) need a little help getting started with a bigger project, or, (2) need some expert advice on a list of small interior design dilemmas. So what do these consultations look like?

Scenario #2: Tackling smaller design dilemmas

Do you have a headache-inducing list of little design dilemmas throughout your house? Maybe you can’t decide what color to paint your bedroom, you hate your dining room light fixture, you need a new living room rug to go with the new sofa you just bought, and you have a beloved painting from your grandmother in your closet but you have no idea where to hang it. A 2-hour design consultation might be just what you need! Here’s how I approach these consultations:

  1. You’ll walk me through your house and share all of the design dilemmas on your list.

  2. I’ll give you my advice on as many as we can cover in 2 hours.

  3. If any of your dilemmas involve finding new pieces, we’ll also do some online shopping together.

  4. After the session, I’ll send you a follow-up document that will include my notes from our session, visuals (e.g., images of items we sourced, inspiration images, etc), and links to any items we sourced online during the consultation.

  5. You take it from there! You’ll be the one to make final design decisions, place orders for any new pieces, and implement the solutions that we come up with during your consultation.
